Had a peaceful stay for local wedding. The staff were incredibly attentive, peaceful and ideal location separate to the pub. What's more, it was really close to a bar/restaurant.

Honestly nothing to complain about. The hotel is fairly clean, nestled in the pretty building with excellent staff. The location STUNNING and lovely to the Queens Head Bus stop. Also - close enough to a bar/restaurant with an open fire, the beer garden, and Fyfield church.

The food portions were massive and just what we needed after a long day. Loved the cozy ambiance and the history. Great spot for a leisurely evening and I even had underfloor heating in my room!

    pub atmosphere
    value breakfast
    convenient wet room
    dated decor

The pub atmosphere buzzed with life. Breakfast hit the spot with locally-sourced ingredients, offering a solid value at just £7.50 for a full English. The room featured a convenient en suite wet room, made morning routines easier.

The adjoining door to the next room allowed for unwelcome noise from the TV, which could be annoying in the evenings. The decor throughout felt dated and the bathroom had lingering odors alongside some stains on the tiles. For a one-night stay, the facilities felt a tad cramped, with not much room to move around comfortably. There were also reports of inconsistent cleanliness, especially in nooks like the bathroom corners where dust hung out too long for anyone's comfort. Lastly, there were issues with the mattress comfort.

    helpful staff
    delicious food
    limited breakfast
    no leisure facilities
    short stay

The cute staff, noting our requests perfectly and ensuring a super clean room that was also very comfortable. Dinner was a highlight, with some of the best fish and chips we've ever had, alongside generous portions. Conveniently located for a wedding nearby, it was nice, although it would have been nice to have a larger variety of breakfast options.

The staff were helpful we seemed like royalty the moment we walked in and the food was just amazing especially the fish and chips it was like heaven on a plate that you can't forget about.

It wasn't exactly cheap but considering the experience it felt acceptable.

    clean ensuite
    delicious breakfast

very nice value with easy access to charming attractions and nature

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, especially the tidy ensuite room that offered all the necessary comforts. Being just a short stroll away from the beautiful Willingale Doe churches, made for a lovely afternoon walk. The breakfast was a real highlight too, offering everything you'd expect and more for the extra cost.

The host was super friendly and really cared about our visit. Breakfast was fab, a proper cooked meal that hit the spot. Everything was super clean, a nice surprise. Only wish the bar area had more seating, it got a bit cramped.

    Charming, Charming, Charming

I loved the cozy outside seating with views of the serene sheep pen, perfect for enjoying drinks in the fresh air! The huge portions of the pub meals, especially the fish and chips, left me both satisfied and impressed! Plus, the home-cooked breakfast, sourced locally, was a delicious way to start my day!
